Peljesac Peninsula

The Peljesac Peninsula, just north of Dubrovnik, seems more like an island than a peninsula. Connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land, this long peninsula juts out into the Adriatic and is not overly developed. It measure 65km / 40mi long by only 7km / 4mi at its widest point. At the center of the Peljesac Peninsula is a mountain chain that runs down the peninsula.

Must-see attractions nearby:
On the mountain sides and flats are orchards, which are a beautiful sight in the spring. Along the coast oyster faming is the main industry. The main towns along the Peljesac Peninsula are Ston and Orebic, which are connected by a scenic mountain road that passes numerous hamlets along the way.
