Värstig

Down the Driva valley from Kongsvoll, some sections of the road have been blasted from the rock. In 9km/5.5mi the Värstig, a section of the old Royal road (now a footpath, offering superb views), runs to the east of the road.
4.5km/3mi farther on, to the right, is the Drivstua (alt. 680m/2,230ft), a former fjellstue (accommodation). Beyond this, to the left, is a view into the Åmotsdal. The scanty stands of birches now give place to coniferous forest. 9.5km/6mi beyond the Drivstua is Magalaupet, a gorge through which the Driva tumbles and foams for a distance of some 100m/110yd.
The road then comes to Rise, with an Iron Age cemetery. Close by are the Smedgården camping site and Driva railroad station. A road on the right (toll) ascends into the beautiful mountain scenery of Loseter (alt. 1,100m/3,600ft). To the northeast is the Sisselhø (1,621m/5,319ft), which can be climbed in about five hours from Oppdal.
