Kongsvoll Fjellstue

In 12km/7.5mi from Dovrefjell National Park the E6 comes to the Kongsvoll Fjellstue (alt. 887m/2,910ft), the newest of the fjellstuer (mountain inns) on the Dovrefjell. 750m/820yd farther on, off the road, is a botanic garden.

Kongsvoll is the base from which to climb the Sødre Knutshø (1,690m/5,545ft; 35 hours) to the east, and the starting-point of a walk (45 hours) to the Reinheim hut (key in Kongsvoll), from which it is another four hours to the summit of Snøhetta (2,286m/7,500ft).
