Independence Celebrations

Independence Celebrations honor Dominica's historic past and rich cultural traditions.

Celebrations include Creole Week which starts with Heritage Day highlighting Dominica's history and ends with Creole Day with its traditional clothes and Creole food.

Vendors island-wide display their produce on Market Day.

On Independence Day or National Day there is a parade of uniformed troops and a grand cultural festival.

The National Day of Community Service consists of approved community projects completed in one day.
