Cadair Idris
From Dolgellau there are three routes up Cadair Idris (2,927ft/893m), the most popular Welsh mountain after Snowdon, and offering even better views. The walk takes between 2.5 and 4 hours, depending on the route chosen.
Cadair Idris, the chair of the giant and bard Idris, is a massive ridge 7mi/11km long, which falls steeply into the Mawddach valley to the northwest but slopes more gently away into outlying hills on the other three sides.
