Kalymnos - Panormos Bay

There are many ancient remains around the sheltered Pánormos Bay on the west coast of Kalymnos: remains of fortifications at Xirókampos and Vriokástro, around the little cove of Aryinóntas on the south side of the bay, and the ruined fort of Kástri (probably Carian), high above the cove of Emporió on the north side of the bay. Télendos Pánormos Bay is closed on the west by the rocky island of Télendos (alt. 458m/1,503ft). On Mt Áyios Konstantínos is a medieval castle, and at the foot of the hill is the ruined monastery of Áyios Vasílios.
