Deutschlandsberg - Schloss Hollenegg

5km/3mi south of Deutschlandsberg stands Schloss Hollenegg, with 16th C. fortified towers on its northwestern and southeastern corners. The much older northeast tower formed part of the 14th C. town wall. The Schloss boasts sumptuous state apartments with frescos, Roccoco stuccoed ceilings and a Late Baroque winged altar removed from the castle chapel at Riegersburg. East of Schloss Hollenegg lies the village of Kitzeck.
