Skagen - Open-air Museum Fortidsminder

Skagen's Open-air Museum "Skagens Fortidsminder" at P. K. Nielsensvej 10 is very interesting. It consists of six old buildings, including the houses of a rich and of a poor fisherman, and also contains special collections on such subjects as fishing, rescues at sea and seafaring. The house of the well-to-do fisherman contains a large container for salted fish.

Must-see attractions nearby:
The windmill between the two houses, a corn-mill, is of the Dutch type. The fishing museum illustrates the history of fishing in Skagen and the formation of the "Skagens Odde" promontory. Other interesting collections include furniture handmade by an old sea-captain who had been shipwrecked, drying-racks for fish, sea mines and a torpedo-shaped mine-sweeping device.
