DeLand - Eatonville National Historic District
Sixteen historic sites and 10 markers take visitors on a walking or driving tour of the Eatonville District. By correlating the sites with Hurston's autobiographical writing, visitors are able to find out what it was like to live here in the early 1920s.

Zora Neale Hurston National Museum of Fine Arts
Eatonville was the hometown of Zora Neale Hurston, a gifted writer and cultural anthropologist who played an important part in the Harlem Renaissance in the 1920s. She is widely regarded as the most significant interpreter of Southern rural African American life during the 1920s and 1930s.
