Description
Along with the castles of neighboring Sandown and Walmer, Deal Castle formed part of the chain of more than 20 castles which Henry VIII had built along the coast. The fort, formed from six semi-circular defensive constructions, was strengthened by deep ditches and a thick circular wall.

The castle was probably completed in 1540 and rewards the visitor with stunning views of the sea.
