Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park pays tribute to three of Ohio's most famous men, Wilbur Wright, Orville Wright, and Paul Laurence Dunbar. The Wright Brothers, known for their contributions to the history of aviation, owned the Wright Cycle Company. Paul Laurence Dunbar, a prominent African American writer, is known for his novels, plays, and poetry.The Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historic Park includes The Wright Cycle Company, the Wright-Dunbar Interpretive Center, and the Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center.

Carillon Historical Park
Carillon Historical Park is a good place to learn about Dayton's pioneering days and early means of transportation. The park encompasses 65 acres and includes 25 historical buildings as well as an early aircraft, automobile, and steam locomotive. The 1905 Wright Flyer III, listed as a National Historic Landmark, is one of the highlights of Carillon Historical Park. Also located within the park is Deeds Carillon, known for being the largest carillon in the state of Ohio.

Huffman Prairie Flying Field
The Huffman Prairie Flying Field in Dayton is of interest to fans of aviation. It was here that the Wright Brothers perfected their first flying machine. The Huffman Prairie Flying Field is a National Historic Landmark and was designated in 1990. The Wright Brothers also ran a business at the Huffman Prairie Flying Field called the Wright Company School of Aviation.

Wright Cycle Company Shop
The Wright Cycle Company opened in this building at this location in 1892. The Wrights operated both the Wright Cycle Company bicycle repair shop as well as a print shop in Dayton. The building is part of Dayton Aviation Heritage, and operated the the National Parks Services.
Paul Laurence Dunbar State Memorial
This restored Italianate turn-of-the-century structure was the final home of the poet Paul Laurence Dunbar. The home contains many of his personal items and his family's furnishings.
