Dallas - State Fair Park

State Fair Park, Dallas's Civic Center and scene of the annual State Fair, is dominated by the Big Tex Towers. Originally laid out for the Texas Centennial Exposition of 1936, the park contains a number of museums: the Age of Steam Museum, the Museum of Natural History, Science Place I and II, and the Museum of African-American Life and Culture. Also in the park are the art-deco Hall of State (commemorating great Texans), the Sports Stadium of the Southern Methodist University, the Cotton Bowl, the Music Hall (opera and ballet; Dallas Summer Festival) and the Dallas Aquarium. The art-deco Exhibition Hall is also a sight in itself.
