The town of Telc has long been a favorite of travelers and Czechs alike - and for good reason. Delightful architecture, a Renaissance chateau, a medieval church and a wonderful central square make this UNESCO World Heritage Site a must see.
The town was devastated by fire in the 14th Century and was rebuilt in stone. For many years Telc main economic resource was fish and large ponds that surround the old town to this day. The old town center is reached via the Great Gate or the Little Gate.
Telc is located 87km / 52mi from Brno via route 23 and makes a pleasant day trip.
