Kadan Attractions
Located on the banks of the River Ohre is the town of Kadan. The town has a long history with many historic buildings. It is first mentioned at the end of the 12th Century when Kadan was granted to the Knights of St John. The two main tourist highlights are the Franciscan Monastery and the 15th Century Town Hall Tower. The white Town Hall Tower is located on Kadan's main square and is impossible to miss.
The Franciscan Monastery and the Church of the Fourteen Holy Helpers were built in the late 15th Century. The church and monastery were owned by the king and in the late 15th Century that was the Lobkowitz dynasty. Consequently the beautiful Lobkowitz family tomb is located within the church.
