Railway Description
It is possible to travel by rail on the 110km/68mi stretch of line between Curitiba and Paranaguá which was completed in 1885. The train rattles its way through more than ten tunnels, over some forty bridges and along yawning abysses, providing an unforgettable travel experience.

The ordinary train to Paranaguá departs from Curitiba station on Sundays at 8.30 a.m. In addition there is an air-conditioned tourist train, the Litorina, which leaves Curitiba about 8.30 a.m. and stops at scenic points on the way. At weekends there are Litorina trains to Antonina. Tickets must be bought some days in advance. The best views on the way from Curitiba to Paranaguá or Antonina are on the left-hand side.
