Manzanillo is surely not at the top of most travelers must see list in Cuba. This little seaside port town has little to offer visitors in terms of interesting sights, beaches or accommodation options. Nonetheless, travelers who make the effort to come here will find they receive little attention or hassle by locals. This can be a welcome treat
after visiting some of the major tourist centers.
If you are spending time in Manzanillo there are some places worth visiting. In the main square called Parque Cespedes is the Glorieta Morisca, a unique looking Moorish style bandstand, built in 1924. Around the square visitors will find restaurants and cafes. Also of interest is the little Iglesia de la Purisma Concepcion, a neo-Classical style church built in the 1920s, the old town hall which is now the Asamblea Municipal del Poder Popular, and the Museo Historico Municipal with artifacts dating from the 16th Century.
