Vrboska Attractions

Vrboska is a small fishing village on the Island of Hvar. It has a marina and is popular with yatchers. The main attraction in the town is the 15th Century fortified Church of St Mary (Crkva Sv Marija). The church itself was built in the 15th Century but was fortified in the last half of the 16th Century to defend against attacks, following a Turkish attack in 1571.

Also in Vrboska is the 15th Century Church of St Lawrence (Crkva Sv Lovrinac) which contains a number of paintings thought to be from the 16th Century. The Fishing Museum (Ribarski Muzej) offers insight into the tradition of fishing in Vrboska.
