Senj Attractions
Senj is located along the Adriatic Coast, and is primarily known as a jumping off point for the island of Krk, with ferry service to the town of Baska, and also the island of Rab. The town of Senj is affected by the cold bura winds making it one of the cold spots along the coast. It is not known for being a popular holiday destination but the town's long history has left a number of interesting monuments. The Nehaj Castle, set above the town, was built in the early 16th Century and now contains the Uskoks Museum on the first floor. On the main square of Cilnica is the 14th Century Frankopan Palace. Near the palace is the Cathedral of St Mary (Sv Marija). Also of note is the Vukasovic Palace, which is now home to the Museum of Senj (Gradski Muzej Senj) and covers the history of the local area.
