Kumrovec is a small town, best known for being the birth place of President Jospi Broz Tito. The main attraction in Kumrovec is a recreation of a 19th Century Croatian village. There is a blacksmith hut, potter's studio, toymaker's hut, vintner's hut, candle maker's shop, and others complete with all the accessories that each worker would need for his job. The museum offers demonstrations of the various occupations, which are held on weekends during the summer months. The setting here is beautiful with a small river running through the village.
Tito's home, also the first brick building in Kumrovec, has been converted into a memorial museum. There is also a bronze statue of Tito in the garden.
Kumrovec is about 40km / 24mi northwest of Zagreb, and about 6km / 3.5mi from the town of Klanjec.
