Jablanac Attractions
The small town of Jablanac is situated on a deep cove across from the island of Rab, to which ferries run regularly. Jablanac is a beautiful little place with a nice harbor, old buildings, and some ruins in the nearby area. It is also a good base from which to explore the Velebit massif.
The history of Jablanac dates to the 12th Century. Ruins of a fortified town or castle from the 13th Century can be found not far from the port. The Church of St Nicholas was first established in Jablanac in the 12th Century although much of what visitors see today dates from the 16th or 18th Centuries. There are also a number of older houses along the harbor, which is a nice area for walking.
