Hvar Town Attractions

The town of Hvar is a charming little place with old stone houses and a beautiful main square near the harbor. The town is situated on a bay with some small outlying islands known as Pakleni Otoci (Pakleni Islets). High above the town, on one of the three surrounding hills, sits a Venetian fortress. There is regular ferry service from Hvar town to the city of Split. All the regular tourist facilities are offered in Hvar, including accommodation, restaurants, bike rentals, and car rentals. This is a good base from which to explore the rest of the island.
