Stradivarius Museum
The Palazzo Affaitati (corner Via Ugolani Dati/Via Palestro) houses the Stradivarius Museum, with more than 700 examples by the famous violin-maker of Cremona, together with drawings and models. Antonio Stradivarius, called Stradivari (1644-1737), a pupil of Niccolò Amati, was the most famous violin-maker of Cremona. He had the ability to appreciate the acoustic quality of various types of wood. Stradivarius acquired great wealth, and the Italians still use the expression "as rich as Stradivari".
