Municipal Museum Description
(Local Name: Museo Civico) Northwest of the Piazza Romain in Cremona, in Via Ugolani Dati, we find the imposing Palazzo Affaitati (1561), a massive Late Renaissance building with a Baroque courtyard and staircase, which now houses the Museo Civico, with numerous works by the Cremona school of painters (15th-18th centuries) founded by Boccaccio Boccaccino (c. 1467-1525), as well as archeological finds, ceramics, and Cremona terracotta work. The old town has fine churches and palaces, many of them with terracotta decoration.
