Stock Exchange Description
(Local Name: Børsen) Southeast of Christiansborg, facing Copenhagen harbor, stands the Exchange (Børsen), built in 1619-20 in the Dutch Renaissance style. Its tower is 54m/177ft high, with a spire formed by the intertwined tails of four dragons. This and the green patina of the copper roof are characteristic of the building, which is one of Copenhagen's emblems. The business of the Exchange is now carried on at Nikolaj Plads 8, while the old Exchange houses the offices of the Copenhagen Chamber of Trade.
