Sprague Lake was named for Abner Sprague, an early settler. The Sprague family operated a lodge from 1910 to 1940, introducing visitors to the nearby waters, meadows and trails. At the far end of the lake is a short, half-mile trail that leads to excellent views of the Continental Divide.
