Almont, Colorado
Almont is a small mountain town located at the point where the East and Taylor Rivers converge to become the Gunnison. The town has guest ranches, campsites, and plenty of outdoor recreation.
Marble, Colorado
The historic mining town of Marble was settled by thousands, many were Italian immigrants who worked the marble. The Lincoln Memorial, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and hundreds of other buildings were built using marble that was quarried and finished in the town of Marble.
Pitkin, Colorado
Pitkin is a historic ghost town east of Gunnison. A boomtown in 1880, Pitkin had over 1,000 residents but the veins were low producers. By 1882, half of the town had moved on seeking fortune elsewhere.
Tincup, Colorado
Tincup was named for one of the prospectors that carried out his gold dust in a tin cup after the big discovery in 1879. Tincup is a historic ghost town east of Gunnison.
