Greeley is a city of 72,000 people in Weld County, an hour's drive north of Denver. The city has more than 25 parks with playgrounds, ball fields and bike trails.
The Centennial Village Museum in Greeley is an open-air museum that consists of well-preserved buildings that date from 1860 to 1920. Victorian and adobe houses, a church, train depot, operational blacksmith and print shops, fire station, tipis, homesteader's shack, one-room schoolhouse and the first Weld County courthouse are among more than 35 structures on the 8-acre site. The grounds of the museum are dotted with Victorian-era lampposts, large shade trees, walkways, flowering beds and specialty gardens.
The Greeley History Museum is located in a beautifully renovated 1929 historic building in downtown Greeley, formerly the Greeley Tribune newspaper offices. A permanent exhibit unveiling the history of Greeley as well as several changing exhibits in the temporary galleries are the main features. The Hazel E. Johnson Research Center contains historical documents and over 30,000 photographs.

The Meeker Home in Greeley was built for the town's founder Nathan Meeker in 1870. It is listed on both the National Register of Historic Places and the Greeley Historic Register. The two-story adobe contains Meeker family belongings as well as furniture and decorative arts from the late 1880s to early 1900s. Panels along the sidewalk tell the family history as well as early history of this area.
