Grand Lake Attractions
The town of Grand Lake is located at the southwest end of the Trail Ridge Road through Rocky Mountain National Park. Near the town are trailheads for hikes into the mountains. Skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoing are popular winter activities while golfing and fishing are favored during the summer months.
The Kauffman House, built as a hotel in 1892, has been restored to its historic appearance with many original furnishings. It is the last of the early Grand Lake log hotels still in existence. In 1990, a gallery was added to house other exhibits. Displays include books, quilts, photographs, clothing and kitchen items.
