To the southwest of Rocky Mountain National Park is the Arapaho National Recreation Area, in the center of which are the "Great Lakes of Colorado" - Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Lake, Willow Creek Reservoir, Monarch Lake and Lake Granby, all good fishing lakes.
The town of Fraser is located between Winter Park and Granby in Grand County, Colorado. Fraser was the home of a German POW camp during the wartime years of 1945-January, 1946.

Kremmling is named after Rudolph Kremmling, who opened a trading post on the north side of Muddy Creek in 1884. Boating, fishing, hunting, skiing, horseback riding and sightseeing are a few of the activities available to visitors.
