Castlewood Canyon State Park
Castlewood Canyon State Park is located southeast of Castle Rock with the ruins of the Castlewood Canyon Dam, hiking trails, a visitor center and rock climbing opportunities. Castlewood is popular for bird watching and photography.

Roxborough State Park
Roxborough State Park is known for its spectacular red rock outcroppings, which can be viewed on the series of hiking trails. The park is located southwest of Denver in Douglas County. In addition to the beautiful scenery, wildlife abound including the black bear, mountain lion and elk.
