Crawford Attractions
The small town of Crawford in Delta County is an access point for the North Rim of Black Canyon of The Gunnison National Monument. Also nearby are a state park and other scenic attractions.
North of the Black Canyon in Delta County is Crawford State Park, on a scenic reservoir. Visitors can enjoy fishing, hiking and water recreation or a visit to the famous Black Canyon nearby.
Near the town of Crawford is Needle Rock, a 700-foot volcanic monolith on the slopes of the Rocky Mountains. Each July during the Render the Rock festival, artists converge on Crawford to recreate the landmark in a variety of mediums from traditional oil paintings and pastels to fabric hats, soap carvings and flower arrangements.
