Cody - Buffalo Bill Historical Center
Cody's main sight is the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, a four-part museum complex that gives a lively impression of the history of the Wild West. The Buffalo Bill Museum displays saddles, guns, photographs and other personal possessions of Buffalo Bill. The Cody Fire Arms Museum has the largest collection of hand guns in the world. The Whitney Gallery of Western Art possesses what must be one of the finest collections of pictures on Wild West themes.

The Plains Indian Museum contains tepees, implements, weapons, clothing and cult objects of the Prairie Indians.

Buffalo Bill Museum
Those interested in the life and times of Buffalo Bill Cody should be sure to stop by the Buffalo Bill Museum. On display visitors will find a large number of memorabilia related to this Wild West hero. Also on display are items of Anne Oakley. The Buffalo Bill Museum should not be confused with the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, as they are two completely separate operations.
Cody Firearms Museum
The Cody Firearms Museum will be of interest to those with a passion for guns. All kinds of firearms are on display and a historical description and background on each gun is provided. Of particular note is the extensive collection of Winchester firearms. Also of interest is the development of firearms from their inception to the versions we see today.
Draper Museum of Natural History
The Draper Museum of Natural History is located on the grounds of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. One interactive display stands out; The Greater Yellowstone Adventure. This 20,000 square foot exhibit provides young and old an interesting experience as it traces the history of the Yellowstone area.
Plains Indian Museum
The Plains Indian Museum is located on the grounds of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody. The museum provides an insight as to the lives of the Plains Indians. A majority of the items in the collection date from 1880-1930 and deal with Northern Tribes including the Lakota, Crow, Arapahoe, Shoshone, and Cheyenne.
Whitney Gallery of Western Art
The Whitney Gallery of Western Art is located in Cody, on the grounds of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Contained within the Whitney Gallery of Western Art are paintings by George Catlin, Alfred Jacob Miller, Thomas Moran, Albert Bierstadt, Frederic Remington, Charles M. Russell, Alexander Phimister Proctor, W.R. Leigh, Joseph Henry Sharp, N.C. Wyeth.
