Kampong Gardens Description
Located on Biscayne Bay in Coconut Grove, the Kampong is named for the Malay or Javanese word for a village or cluster of houses. The NTBG is dedicated to the conservation of tropical plant diversity, particularly rare and endangered species. The grounds of the Kampong garden contain a diverse collection of heritage plants from Southeast Asia, Central and South Americas, the Caribbean. Exotic tropical fruit trees and flowering trees draw scientists from all over the world.
