Holmes County Amish Community
In Holmes County, 87 mi. to the south of Cleveland live 40,000 Amish, the largest community of this sect in the world, still speaking a Swabian dialect of German. The Amish do not have cars, radio, television, refrigerators or private telephones, and still use horse-drawn ploughs.
