Chom Thong - Wat Phra That Si Chom Thong
The oldest part of the 15th c. Wat Phra That Si Chom Thong is the Burmese-style chedi, built in 1451 and said to contain a relic of the Buddha. The cruciform wiharn was built around 1550 in the reign of King Muang Keo, and has beautiful gilded wood carving along the gables, eaves and portals, as well as on the teak columns and beams in the interior, making it an outstanding work of art.
