A sprawling country, China is a mosaic of lush green gardens, humid jungles, high mountain peaks and meandering rivers. China is a cultural wonderland boasting ornate temples, ancient Buddhist caves, and various colorful and symbolic festivals. While it exudes a rich Oriental heritage that cannot be escaped even in the most urban cities, China is also surprisingly modern. China offers a variety of luxurious hotels which offer great hospitality and comfortable rooms. For visitors who like the familiarity of International Chain Hotels, there are several of these hotels in China to choose from.

A myriad of outdoor gardens, interesting museums, theatres, opulent palaces and top-rated tourist attractions come together to make Beijing, one of the most popularly visited vacation destinations in the East. Amongst the city's best historical monuments are The Summer Palace, where Chinese emperors from its glorious dynasty have reigned in the past, and The Imperial Palace. The Imperial Palace, also commonly known as The Forbidden City, is perhaps the most impressive place to visit in Beijing boasting typically Eastern art and architecture. Nature enthusiasts and outdoor lovers will want to visit the revered North Lake Park located close to the Forbidden City; the site of the serene North Lake and the oldest imperial gardens in the city. Several luxury hotels can be found in the area surrounding the Imperial Palace. The luxurious Peninsula Beijing hotel in the center of the city is located only minutes away from the Imperial Palace, and is considered to be amongst the finest hotels in China. Other reputable hotels in Beijing include the Grand Hotel Beijing and the China World Hotel Beijing, both of which offer immaculate service. Amongst the various temples that can be found in the city, the most noteworthy and well-preserved are the Lama Temple and the Temple of Heaven. Beijing also features a number of striking natural treasures. These include the Western Mountains, and in particular, the distinct Peak known as the Incense-burner Mountain with its associated Temple and Palace. Perhaps the jewel in the crown of tourist-attractions in Beijing is the world-famous and history-steeped Great Wall of China which passes through several other Chinese cities. One of the best hotels in China, the luxurious Commune by the Great Wall Kempinski Hotel, offers beautiful views of this monumental construct of history.

Shanghai, the largest city in China, is busy and dynamic. Boasting an overwhelming fusion of East and West, Shanghai features a cityscape composed of modern architecture, needle-thin sky-high towers, quaint oriental gardens, majestic temples and the graceful Yangtze River. There is a lot to see and do in Shanghai. Amongst the not-to-miss attractions in the city are the Longhua Park, the Garden of Natural Beauty, and the Yuyuan Garden which features a popular Chinese Tea-House. Shanghai is also home to the impressive Shanghai Museum which showcases an extensive collection of traditional Chinese art. When in Shanghai, be sure to visit the Old Town in the heart of the city. Very closely located to Old Shanghai, is a most popular tourist attraction; The Jade Buddha Temple. The Temple is magical by day, but even more attractive at night when it comes alive with a striking exterior of colorful lights. An interesting activity for those who want a relaxing ride around the town is to take a sightseeing tour on a steamer along the Bund, a river promenade lining Shanghai's most prominent buildings.
