Vina del Mar Tourist Attractions

Vina del Mar is a popular beach resort just north of Valparaiso. The city draws Chileans and foreigners who come here to soak up the sun.
In addition to the beach Vina del Mar also has numerous cultural attractions with museums, heritage buildings, and even a castle.

Castillo Wulff

Castillo Wulff in Vina del Mar was built for Gustavo Wulff who made several changes to it in the decades after it was originally constructed in the 1880s. The castle is complete with tower and turets, and offers beautiful views over the ocean. On display inside are changing art exhibits.
Castillo Wulff is today a National Historic Landmark.

Museo Francisco Fonck

The Museo Francisco Fonck in Vina del Mar carries an extensive collection related to Easter Island and the Rapa Nui culture. The museum also showcases items from the cultures mainland Chile. In addition are displays on the natural history of Chile.
In the garden of the Museo Francisco Fonck is a Moai from Easter Island, one of only a few which can be seen outside of Easter Island.

Museo Palacio Rioja

Housed in the former residence of the Rioja family is the Museo Palacio Rioja. The museum allows a glimpse into the early 20th Century life of a rich merchant. On display are furnishings and other household items, many of them imported from Europe.

Caleta Abarca

Caleta Abarca is one of Vina del Mar's most popular beaches. Located close to the city center the beach is back both by Parks and development. Caleta Abarca becomes very busy during the warmer months.

Parque Quinta Vergara

The Parque Quinta Vergara in Vina del Mar is a beautiful green space with flowers and walking paths. Located within the park is the Vergara Palace, home to the Fine Arts Museum.

Fine Arts Museum

The Fine Arts Museum (Museum Bellas Artes) in Valparaiso exhibits a range of art works from 16th Century Italian schools to 20th Century Chileans artists. The building that houses the collection is a fabulous old building in the Quinta Vergara Park.

Artequín Museum

The Artequín Museum in Vina del Mar was opened in 2008 and is designed for all ages. Interactive exhibits are meant to engage visitors and reproductions of famous art works are on display.

Playa Renaca

Playa Renaca is a northern suburb of Vina del Mar. The area is a summer destination with hotels and restaurants all catering those who come here to enjoy the beautiful beach.

Playa del Sol

Vina del Mar's Playa del Sol beach is a beautiful stretch of white sand on the outskirts of the city. A walking or biking trail runs along the top of the beach and attracts locals and tourists alike.
