Chicago - Prairie Avenue Historic District

The Prairie Avenue Historic District is located south-west of Soldier Field. The 9th century residential street (recently restored) was once the home of such wealthy citizens of Chicago as the department store magnates Marshall Field and Joseph Sears. Of particular interest are the Neo-Romanesque Glessner House (1886) at 1800 South Prairie Avenue and Clarke House, in Greek Revival style, one of the oldest houses in Chicago.
