Chester - Old City

The inner Old Town, designated a conservation area in 1960, still retains its old city walls, as well as large numbers of well preserved half timbered houses and the remarkably beautiful Rows, two tier medieval arcades of shops. Its attractive bridges and parks and its walks along the walls and by the river make Chester a pearl among English cities.
