Plum Tree Park Description
(Local Name: Hongmei Gongyuan) In the center, in Plum Tree Park (Hongmei Gongyuan), stands the Hongmei Ge Pavilion, built in 1008-16. This two-story building, 17m/56ft tall, was rebuilt in 1295 after the original had been destroyed by arsonists. The seven-story pagoda, which is shaped like a paint brush and 1000 years old, affords a panoramic view of the city.

The park is known in particular for the red blossom on the plum trees in March and April.
