Chaiyaphum - Wat Prang Ku

Wat Prang Ku, about 2 km (11/4 mi.) from Chaiyaphum, was built at the time of King Jayavarman VII (1181-1201). The reasonably well-preserved temple has some fine sculptures on the gabling as well as on the lintels above the doors. Inside are three Buddha figures, two being seated, one in the Dvaravati the other in the Ayutthaya style, and the third standing, also in the Ayutthaya style. A second building, this time dilapidated, has a well-preserved door lintel with decoration drawn from Hindu mythology.
