Description
(Local Name: Museo Municipal de Arqueológia) In Ceuta's Jardines de la República Argentina, above the harbor to the left, is the small Archeological Museum, with pottery, weapons and other objects of the Neolithic, Carthaginian and Roman periods. In other cases are objects of European and Arab/Berber origin from medieval and modern times. Under the museum is the entrance to a 2.5km/1.5mi long system of underground passages (galerías subterráneas) of the 16th and 17th centuries designed to secure military control of the ground in front of the town and the water supply.
