Grand Cayman - Midland District Attractions

Mangrove and freshwater swamps cover most of the middle district of Grand Cayman. It provides sanctuary for many species of birds, most notably in the Matilda Ponds on the north coast.
Bodden Bay
Bodden Bay on Grand Cayman is sheltered by a reef.
Bodden Town, Cayman Islands
Bodden Town was once beset by pirate attacks. The 4 mi / 6 km wall and a cannon pointed towards the entrance of the reef still remain. The town was once the island's capital.
Bodden Town - Cemetery Beach
Cemetery beach at Bodden Town is a popular place for snorkeling and very good for beginner snorkelers. The entrance here is off the beach and very easy. The area is protected by an outer reef. Visitors may expect to see coral heads and a variety of fish.
Breakers, Cayman Islands

Many species of birds nest in this marshland of Matilda Ponds on Grand Cayman.
Spotts Bay
On the shore of Spotts Bay visitors will find a bluff and a cave inhabited by bats. The bay is located on the southwest coast of Grand Cayman.
