Description
The Cherokee, one of the Five Civilized Tribes, were forced to relocate from their native homeland. Many of the Indians left their homeland voluntarily but 13,000 who refused to leave were forced to march 1,200 miles to the Indian territory in the west, during the winter of 1838-39.

The park contains both a natural area and a wild area. There are horseback riding, backpacking and hiking opportunities.
