The Canmore Museum Geosciences Centre is all about mountains, what comprises them and the people who live in and around them. The Canmore Museum Geosciences Centre has a special focus on coal mining. Canmore was, up until relatively recently, a coal mining center. Coal was worked from the various productive seams for well over a century.
