Canberra - Duntroon
Duntroon is where Australian military traditions and memories of the Campbell family who lived here meet. The mansion of Duntroon (named after Duntrune Castle in Scotland), built in the 1840s, has been occupied since 1911 by the Royal Military College for the training of officers. The mansion itself is now the officers' mess and is only occasionally open to the public. In the grounds are two First World War cannons, one captured from the Turks in Mesopotamia, the other from the Germans in France.
