Caverna do Diabo

The Gruta da Tapagem, better known as the Caverna do Diabo ("Devil's Cave"), lies 48km/30mi west of Eldorado. This stalactite cave is around 5km/3mi long, with a number of huge chambers and very striking stalactites and stalagmites. The parts of the cave that are open to visitors have concrete paths and good lighting, but can be seen only when accompanied by a guide. Nearby is a restaurant; and visitors can hire overnight accommodation in small chalets.
