Caverna de Santana

The Caverna de Santana, the largest cave in São Paulo state, is 20km/12.4mi north-west of Iporanga and 60km/37mi north-west of the Caverna do Diabo. From that cave take the minor road which runs into the Eldorado-Iporanga road and turn left in the direction of Serra, which lies to the south of the Caverna de Santana. The Rio Roncador, which flows through the cave (a distance of almost 6km/4mi), forms a series of waterfalls. Because of the numerous narrow passages and deep abysses only about a tenth of the known length of the cave is open to visitors.

There are two other show caves in the neighborhood - the Gruta do Morro Preto ("Cave of the Black Hill") and the Gruta da Agua Suja ("Cave of the Dirty Water"), with the Cascada da Pedra ("Stone Waterfall").
