Vanderhoof, west of Prince George, is a small community with annual international air show held on the last weekend of July.
The town's economy is largely based on agriculture. It is named for Herbert Vanderhoof, an employee of the railroad who decided on the town's location. (The town was moved to a different location later on due to flooding.)
Of interest in Vanderhoof is the Vanderhoof Heritage Museum which explores the history of agriculture in the area. The museum maintains a number of historical buildings that have been restored from the 1914 time period.
