From Parrsboro the route heads north for 35km (22mi) to the former mining town of Springhill. Set in the midst of delightful scenery the town is nevertheless the center of what was once a coal mining district, the history of which is recorded in Springhill's mining museum.
Springhill is also the birthplace of Canadian recording artist, Anne Murray.
The Anne Murray Center in Springhill is a tribute to Anne Murray who grew up in this small town. On display at the centre are awards, wardrobe items, photographs, and other Anne Murray memorabilia. The Centre is a tribute to the Anne's amazing career. Rows of gold and platinum albums, and glittering trophies of all shapes and sizes fill every inch of the room.

Springhill flourished in the 1830s with the discovery of coal here. Today visitors can tour a mine and learn of the history of mining in this town. A washhouse, lamp cabin and mine are features of the exhibits at the Springhill Miners' Museum.
